I began my float sessions at Urban Float in Ringwood when I was about 6 months pregnant. Prior to receiving a voucher from a friend for my birthday I had never heard of Urban Float or float therapy in general, and to be honest I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had been suffering back pain throughout my pregnancy and was willing to give anything a try! And the thought of being able to lay on my back was certainly appealing.
I expected to experience some much needed ‘me time’ and 45 minutes of undistracted relaxation but what I got out of the session was so much more!
Not only was I able to turn off my mind, put aside the giant pre baby to do list and just immerse myself in the calming environment, I was also pleasantly surprised by the new found connection I had with my baby whilst in the float pod. Without distractions, I could feel every movement my baby made and I left feeling much more connected to my pregnancy than when I had walked in.
Now in my ninth month of pregnancy I can’t recommend Urban Float Ringwood enough for any pregnant ladies out there looking for a way to unwind, relieve some back pain and pelvic pressure or for anyone just looking for some time to truly switch off from the outside world.
